The person behind the sessions
Knowing a language is also knowing how it feels in conversation.
I grew up in Chile, so Spanish is the language I know from the inside — its rhythm, shortcuts, humor, and the small choices that make everyday speech sound natural.
I also know the other side of language learning: understanding a rule and still needing time to find the words when a real conversation starts moving. Learning other languages has made me attentive to that gap between knowing and using.
That perspective shapes the way I teach — with direction, patience, and enough flexibility for the language to stay alive.
Why I teach this way
Conversation first does not mean structure last.
A useful session can move naturally between speaking and explanation. We talk, notice what is getting in the way, make it clearer, and put it back into use.
Start from something real.
The conversation has a purpose: something you want to say, understand, prepare for, or explore.
Explain what helps.
Grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are tools for communication, not the destination of the session.
Keep context in the room.
Tone, expressions, and cultural references often explain what a translation alone cannot.
Let the focus evolve.
Your priorities can change as your Spanish changes. A private session should be able to change with them.
From Chile, with a wider view
There is no single way to sound “correct” in Spanish.
My Spanish begins in Chile, but the language extends far beyond one country. When regional differences matter, we can look at vocabulary, tone, expressions, rhythm, and what feels natural in different contexts.
The aim is not to erase accents or imitate one variety. It is to understand more, respond with more ease, and recognize Spanish as a language spoken in many different ways.
